Radishes from the Vegetable Garden
Here are some tips and a simple delicious recipe for radishes that I’ve tried and love to share.
You can snack on the radishes fresh right from the garden.
You can slice or chop them and add them to a salad or a cole slaw.
You can add sliced or chopped radishes to warm chicken soup, wonton soup, vegetable soup, or any cold soup to add a little extra flavor.
Easy Vegetable Dip
Ingredients
1 cup Sour Cream
1/2 cup Mayonnaise
2 Tbsp minced or grated Onion
1 Tbsp fresh minced Garlic
2 Tbsp chopped fresh Parsley
1 Tbsp chopped fresh Chives
1/2 tsp seasoned Salt
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
Optional Ingredients to Add
1 Tbsp chopped fresh Dill or Thyme or Tarragon or any favorite herb
1 Tbsp fresh Lemon Juice
A dab of Hot Sauce
1/3 cup grated or crumbled favorite Cheese
Directions
In a bowl, mix all ingredients together. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Then dip your fresh radish from the garden and eat. Serve with fresh radishes and other favorite vegetables from your garden. Enjoy!
You can use more or less of these ingredients for your own desired taste.
Radish Slaw
for Topping Sandwiches & Tacos
Ingredients
5 or 6 sliced Radishes
1/4 cup fresh chopped Cilantro
1/4 cup fresh chopped Parsley
4 Tbsp sliced Scallions
1 Tbsp fresh minced Garlic
1 small Jalapeno Chili minced
2 Tbsp fresh Lime Juice or Lemon Juice
1 Tbsp Olive Oil or Vegetable Oil
A dash of Salt
A dash of Black Pepper
Directions
In a bowl, mix all ingredients together.
Let the slaw stand for about 15 minutes and let the flavors to marry.
Serve by topping the slaw on your favorite sandwich, burger, taco, or anything that needs a little help with texture and flavor. Enjoy!
